The Story:
Teeth rattle and bodies jolt in nearly every direction from obstacles in what could be described as a wagon path.  I had memorized every detail of this journey. An old mining road full of rocks and holes that we traveled still looks unchanged to me. Nearing the meadow we had come so far to see we slowed our pace. The thick aspen groves gave way to a near perfect alpine field. My heart pounded giddy with excitement. I watched as the noble elk herd came in to view. Majestic and bold and so close we could nearly touch them. This beauty reflects in my memories and at the meadows edge.
